LIFT's 2019-2023 Kachin and northern Shan Programme aims to respond to these challenges by enhancing resilience and livelihoods, improving nutritional status, increasing household income and assets and reducing vulnerability of internally displaced people, returnees, women, migrants, people with disabilities, youth and people at risk of labour exploitation.

The programme will achieve this goal through a tailored package of 14 interconnected project interventions across its four main programmatic areas: (1) Nutrition; (2) Decent Work and Labour Mobility; (3) Agriculture, Markets and Food Systems; and (4) Financial Inclusion. The projects will work with a wide range of stakeholders across both Government and Non-Government Controlled areas and benefit nearly 350,000 direct beneficiaries (of whom 70 per cent will be women) during the implementation period.
